Our garden is an homage to Jardines La Tropical from the original brewery in Cuba, built in 1888. The iconic gated columns lead the way into our slice of paradise in the heart of Wynwood. Upon first step you’re greeted with a 10,000 sq ft. tropical garden bursting with 30ft trees, orchids and exotic plants. The senses are triggered and the urge to explore is likely to emerge.
The secrets of the garden are far and wide, to help reveal these hidden treasures we’ve partnered with Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden to create an immersive experience at our Jardines. Stroll through our garden on a self-guided tour of carefully curated QR codes planted throughout. Scan the codes and learn about the significance behind each tree, orchid, palm and plant as you sip on your choice of craft cerveza!
At La Tropical we do our best to be sustainable, starting with our Jardines. We’ve installed a tank to collect rain water that’s used to water the garden. Our brewmaster has partnerships with local farmers to pick up our spent grain that’s used to feed animals. And lastly, our 6-pack packaging rings are 100% plastic free, biodegradable, compostable and are safe for sea life consumption! Rest assured you may now drink calmly knowing no sea creatures will be suffocating from a La Tropical 6pack ring!
Our Jardines are all about bringing the best of the past and brining it into the future. Reviving what once was and giving it life again. We couldn’t make a river through the middle of the garden like the original Cerveceria La Tropical in Cuba, but we are lucky to partner with Fairchild Topical Botanic Garden who not only makes up for the river we couldn’t create in Wynwood, but has the same beliefs. For this reason, we are putting our efforts behind raising funds for their One Million Orchid Project. The goal is to bring back orchids that were once native in South Florida. In the late 1800s, with the southward expansion of the Florida East Coast Railroad, Florida’s native orchids were stripped and exploited to be potted plants for sale. These acts caused for these beauties to eventually become extinct. As a result, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden has been propagating millions of orchids to reintroduce them into the South Florida ecosystem. We are proud to partner with a cause so intrinsic to our values and are putting efforts towards generating donations for the One Million Orchid Project.
Our crowlers are supersized mega cans at a boisterous 32oz! Fill ‘em up with any beer we have on tap and enjoy anywhere! Additionally, you can feel great knowing $1 from each crowler will go towards Fairchild’s One Million Orchid Project.
Our garden tours are self guided, just scan QR codes and explore! If you’re curious in a brewery tour we’d love to host you! Please see a link to all of our events and brewery tours below to select a date that works for you! Don’t forget, every cent you donate goes toward Fairchild’s One Million Orchid Project. Enjoy a tour, sip, and feel good about it.
